Service Delivery Manager, Flow Master, etc.) for an Agile team that uses the Kanban method.   Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located anywhere across Canada.    As a Flow Manager, you employ servant leadership to coach and support the team in agile product development and delivery methods. You teach and coach the team on Agile practices and principles. You will facilitate and/or support Kanban cadences (meetings), coach the team on getting the most out of the Kanban method and help the team to remove impediments.  You will support transparency through clear communication and help foster collaboration and understanding between the Product Owner/business stakeholders and the team. Become part of a strong and successful company that’s trusted by millions of Canadians to do the right thing.     Be your best at Canada Life.   We are looking for a  Software Developer   The Software Developer will participate in all aspects of software development and maintenance within the Corporate Technology division.  The primary focus of this role is to support the functions related to Funds Handling and Taxation but will expand as requirements change.   We currently have an opening for an intermediate developer working on Microsoft based tools including .NET with a secondary focus on mainframe tools (primarily COBOL, SQL, DB2, JCL, etc.)   What you will do  Software Developers are responsible for the design and development of software solutions.   This role involves the following activities: - Design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production, and maintain software applications - Provide production support and application monitoring and tuning for applications - Participate in project planning - Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods This role also involves these additional specific activities: - Provide ongoing daily production support and remediation of business applications within the Corporate line of business – including the development and execution of test plans - Being part of the rotation for monitoring incidents - Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes including the identification of solutions, scoping the work, and executing the changes - Task management for themselves as well as assisting other group members - Complete scheduled maintenance, legislative changes and changes required to optimize and streamline the existing application inventory (both purchased and internally developed applications) - Trouble shoot application problems, and maintain an inventory of expertise for identified problems - Complete development assignments as assigned through your team leader and negotiated with project teams - Create and/or update software development best practices - Liaise and provide consulting support for applications to project teams - Occasional after-hours and weekend work will be required What you will bring  - Degree/diploma in related discipline (computer science) or equivalent combination of training and experience - Minimum 5+ years' experience in and support/development environment - Training or knowledge and experience with: - Software design methodologies and documentation tools - Software requirements analysis and design principles - Technical infrastructure environments including servers, networks and security - Quality assurance and testing of mainframe and/or server and desktop based applications - One or more of the following application development environment languages and tools: mainframe COBOL, SQL (DB2 & MS SQL Server), SAS, JCL and .NET.  Exposure to job scheduling and file transfer tools would also be an asset - Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, team-oriented leadership skills and attention to detail Be your best at Canada Life- Apply today    We are one of Canada's top 100 employers!   Canada Life serves the financial security needs of more than 13 million people across Canada, with additional operations in Europe and the United States.
