Our Individual Customer (IC) Technology group is looking to hire a Senior Solution Architect to support the Wealth Solutions and Finance business units. Reporting to the Portfolio Solution Architect, the Solution Architect is a collaborative role that partners with others (e.g. Project Manager, Business System Analyst, Lead Developer, etc.) to form a leadership team to design solutions and support delivery. The Solution Architect will also collaborate with their Portfolio & Technology teams as well as business leaders, sponsors, and stakeholders to develop strategies and roadmaps. They will work to define and maintain architecture artifacts for supporting project delivery and application support and lead technical vision and direction for solutions, ensuring consistency with overall enterprise and portfolio architecture that may at times include hands-on development (e.g. Proof of Concept and project development). You’ll collaborate with business partners, scrum teams and other internal stakeholders to help turn business requirements, user needs and creative strategy into engaging experiences.   WHAT YOU’LL DO All members of our UX design teams can expect to spend part of their days: - Creating and effectively presenting UX deliverables (flows, sketches, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, etc.) to stakeholders and teams – you have a talent for making even the most complex concepts seem simple - Assessing data from multiple sources (UX research, SEO, product requirements, tech constraints, analytics) and synthesizing it to develop efficient user scenarios, taxonomies, navigation systems, design patterns, etc. - Empathizing with our users, and become an expert in their thoughts, needs, and behaviours through direct contact in the form of user interviews and usability tests - Staying current on emerging trends in user-centered methodologies, accessibility, UI design patterns, usability principles and web technologies - Working collaboratively with User Experience, Digital Customer Experience and Strategic Customer Marketing teams and act as an advocate for the user - Being fully embedded in a product delivery team, embracing real-time collaboration WHO YOU ARE - A few years of professional experience in a UX or Interaction Design role and preferably some experience in a previous role where you have acted as the UX/UI project lead - A demonstrable portfolio of work that exhibits your process for solving design problems - Clear ability to simplify complex concepts and requirements in presentation, design and implementation - Experience with industry tools such as Sketch, InVision, Axure, Adobe CC - Excellent communicator with the ability to effectively convey design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders - Passionate about user experience and all things digital - Previous experience conducting user research, and strong skills in UX writing are considered an asset Discover your opportunity. You’ll collaborate with business partners, scrum teams and other internal stakeholders to help turn business strategy and user needs into engaging experiences.   WHAT YOU’LL DO  As a design lead, you’ll be expected to: - Define the experience strategy facilitating work sessions with client teams and users to define key design goals and requirements - Audit the landscape competitively and comparatively for inspiration as well as design ideas that can be utilized in the current design process - Lead the user experience and interface design for the team, making sure we’re on track to deliver a high-quality, desirable product that supports our Canada Life brand - Lead and mentor UX designers on your team, while still digging into UX design work hands-on - Create task flows and high-fidelity artifacts including wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, etc., for both mobile and web pages - Plan and conduct user research studies, using methods such as remote usability testing, A/B testing, 1:1 interviews, rapid contextual inquiries, etc.  - Empathize with our users, becoming an expert in their thoughts, needs, and behaviours that can impact product and design strategy  WHO YOU ARE - Experience as a Design Lead or leading and coaching multifunctional teams of design strategists, researchers, UX/UI designers and visual designers - You have several years of experience designing delightful consumer-quality products on both web on mobile platforms - You love to design clear and creative artifacts (e.g., task flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes) - Have visual design skills, including use of a diverse set of software (e.g., InVision, Adobe CC, Sketch, OmniGraffle, Balsamiq, Axure) - Experience with planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing and rapid prototyping - Have solid knowledge and expertise in UX design, preferably in an Agile environment - Have strong communication skills with ability to articulate and optimize designs based on the value to the user and the business Discover your opportunity.
